With anticipation, I hiked to the base of Cathedral Spires hoping for clouds to add supporting elements into the landscape. After all, a cloudless sky is not a photographer’s friend.
How can I describe the moments of quiet in the presence of these carvings, both a gift from the Lord.
On the trek back to the car in near darkness, I’d already decided upon the title. Clouds would have taken away from the strong and silent majesty of the rocks. They do not need supporting characters for they truly are a breathtaking solo act!
In the end, the expanse beyond the Spires wasn’t what I’d hoped. I sat in front of my computer pondering this photograph and whether it is worthy of printing. The answer is obvious.
