South Dakota: Land & Sky
“South Dakota : Land & Sky is more than just a calendar of beautiful photographs. It’s a collective story of the landscape and how that view has shaped my year. Perhaps these stories will resonate with you as well.” -Cristen
Several years ago, Cristen started the project ‘South Dakota: Land & Sky.’ She was approached by a small local publishing company to compile a book, which she did. It was well received and Cristen has continued the project in her yearly calendars.
The 12 photographs featured in the calendar were all taken in South Dakota over the past 12 months, since the publishing of the previous year’s edition.
The 2025 Calendar showcases the change in landscape across the prairie as each season passes.
Featured locations include Bear Butte, Oahe Dam on the Missouri River, Badlands National Park, southern Mickelson Trail, Sheridan Lake, and Emmanuel Lutheran Church tucked away in a peaceful draw near White Clay Creek.
Printed on 8.5×11 inch 130 lb. paper (that will work for all pen types, no more smeared gel pens!) and wire bound – printed and bound in South Dakota!

A few changes are in place for the 2025 edition. A new paper will be used, the thickness of the paper will remain the same to uphold the quality the calendar has held all these years.
